Topics:ME!

To be honest. It isn't much of a birth. Its really a creation. It all started YEARS ago, when I decided to create a website and see if I could do it. We talking school days. In fact, it was a little after I discovered the internet. Yes. This was when the net was commercially available and I was allowed a phone line in my bedroom. Yup. That's '94/'95 we talking about. I know the net was around for a few years before then via BBSes. This was my intro to the net at age 14.
I started creating websites and playing nicely. A few landed on places like geocities.Right. That'd be most of them. THEN! I got a job working for ICON the internet service provider, who got bought out by WorldOnline, who later got bought out by Tiscali who then got bought out by MWEB. YAY! The Great Dial-Up user base wars. </side track>
So the short story I was trying to spill on the above, was that I started then storing all those pages on my personal web space provided with my staff account. WAHOO 10 megabytes worth! So, I managed to save only a few site. These are the two to be honest.
This
one and this
one. There were a few in between where there was experimenting with CSS & php and all sorts of nonsense. There was one after that which I was half embarresed about (purely for looks purpose). BUT!! That one was nicely function in PHP & CVS files. (I didn't have access to a DB at that point).
So the latest site you see before you is a result of me acquiring a
girlfriend who decided she was a graphics designer. And wanted a Blog site. Now all my sites have had sections where I vented what was happening in my life. All in the days before the term Blog was coined. So the point to this is, she wanted one. I said "oh, I did that, its easy enough to do, just need a bit of time. SOOOOooOOooo I did it. She had the interface which she had created years ago. So I sat and coded for a bit and then incorporated new technologies like RSS and... um. um. stuff. Basically whatever wasn't around in 2003 when I played with PHP. :)
By this stage I was starting to itch (not what you thinking). Cause now I had had a website up in some form or another up for years. (we'll ignore the one which I mentioned I was slightly embarrassed about) and suddenly I had only a temporary covering...
(And off we go on another side track) So one day I was sitting around thinking to myself that there be so many people who are just either plane dim-witted and absolutely silly and completely lacking any sight further than their own nose. Then it dawned on me! I wanted to bitch to the world again! Like I had in years gone by. And thus a site was born in my head. Beyond Your Nose! Simplicity! Brilliant. Hell. It also is a reminder to me to think or look beyond my own nose.
I blurted this out to Anja saying "OOOHH OOHHH OOHHH, this is a cool idea for a website." So I did it. I registered the domain. She emailed me this:
... I laughed myself silly at that point. I then begain to modified the code that I put together for Anja to be 100% CSS styled. Anja came up with a design for the site which looks something like this:

Wunnerful. So a look & feel was born. My site was live and waiting a few weeks later with a nice coversheet. A month later I posted my first behind the scenes entry. Then a earlier this year I posted the second post which was a bit morbid cause of my mood at the time. A couple of weeks later the design was completed to Anja's satisfaction and I was then tasked with putting it all together. Of course this was when I was painting houses, organising cat door installations, maids, a friend from england arriving, weddings, etc... But I finally got around to doing it this easter weekend. EGADS! How did the last month and a bit go by so fast?!
So the long story short! The blog is finally live to the world with a pretty look and feel. And with all dev jobs, there a few bugs and things to finish over the next few days. However, there comes a point where it becomes acceptable to just launch these projects and clean up over the period of a week or two.
IT LIVES!
Over the next few weeks I'll introduce myself (Bergen Larsen) to the world in who I am these days vs who I was in the old sites.
